When YMCA approached me to create user-friendly online course to train their 100’s of school-based volunteers, I knew that Rise was the software of choice. Aimed at a demographic of over 50’s, this training needed to be intuitive and uncluttered.

The process for this project was to take a 4 page training manual and turn it into an interactive online course, where upon completion, volunteers would be issued with a certificate proving their participation and completion. YMCA needed to track course engagement and completion, so I created a custom LMS for them within a WordPress site I built.

Using a plugin called ‘Grassblades’ YMCA are able to see the full analytics of who has engaged in the course, when it was complete and so on. It also enabled functionality to instantly and automatically create personalised certificates of completion that allow volunteers to verify their training experience.

The project was managed by me as I worked with SME’s to extract the content and ensure the branding and design aligned with their program. The whole project took only a matter of weeks and the final result is loved by YMCA.

This course will be used nationally to train their growing body of volunteers supporting their ‘School Breakfast Program’. It was a solution delivered on time and on budget for YMCA.
